Lead Sales EngineerEaton's North American Sales Division is currently seeking a Lead Sales Engineer to join our team. This hybrid position is based at our New Orleans, LA or Baton Rouge, LA location.What You'll Do:The primary function of the Lead OEM Sales Engineer is to market and sell Eaton's products and services to obtain orders that are profitable to Eaton. The position is expected to grow electrical component, assembly products and sales results. This will be expected in the geographic market region consistent with the expectations of seasoned sales professionals. The primary responsibility is to grow sales within the targeted Electrical OEM segments in the New Orleans, LA, or Baton Rouge, LA area. The Lead OEM Sales Engineer is tasked with managing an assigned customer base, increasing sales in the local marketplace, and application guidance and technical assistance to assigned customers. This position is expected to develop, grow and maintain relationships with Eaton employees, specifiers and customers including Eaton authorized distributors. A key focus for this position is setting a strategy for selling circuit protection, power distribution solutions, and control products to OEM customers, thereby driving market share growth in those categories.In this function you will:Develop and execute strategic plans to meet performance and growth expectations and requirementsQuote projects and negotiate pricing agreementsPrepare sales presentations and training to create demand through product understanding and awarenessBuild relationships with key customers to enhance long-term business prospectsWork with factories to resolve technical issues while working with customers to resolve quality issuesCanvas the market to gain insight and adjust to ever changing pricing and delivery requirementsAssist team to develop a coordinated sales effort while keeping management informed of market conditionsParticipate in ongoing training on both functional and technical skillsQualifications:Required (Basic) Qualifications:Bachelor's degree from an accredited institutionMinimum five (5) years of electrical sales and/or minimum seven (7) years' experience in the electrical industryPossess and maintain a valid and unrestricted driver's licenseRelocation is not available. Candidates must currently reside within a 50-mile radius of Baton Rouge, LA or New Orleans, LA to be considered.Eaton will not consider applicants for employment immigration sponsorship or support for this position.Preferred Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institutionThree (3) years of OEM experienceSkills:Position Criteria:Ability to respond to a variety of challenging circumstances while continuing to demonstrate superior selling skills for important customer services and applicationsMust have strong knowledge base and experience with electrical components & solutions and applications, with emphasis on circuit protection, industrial controls and power distribution products.Solid understanding of market trends, industry issues, and knowledge of competitorsElectrical product knowledgeAbility to provide technical solutions built around customer needsSkilled in time managementPossess negotiating skills while understanding and using techniques needed to close ordersExperience with preparing sales proposals that meet customer expectationsRobust presentation, training and communications skillsExperience utilizing value added selling techniquesStrong work ethic, communications skills, competitiveness, willingness to learn and adept at building relationshipsExperience working with configuration tools, pricing methodologies and business systemsAbility to travel up to 25%
