Pediatric Step Down RN - Baltimore, MD

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Night shift, 3x12 hours (19:00 - 07:30 / 07:00 - 19:30) with rotating schedules.

Job Description

The Pediatric Step Down RN position is for a mixed unit focused on rehabilitation. The RN will provide care to pediatric patients recovering from traumatic injuries and complex conditions but will not need intensive care unit (ICU) experience. Key skills include trach and ventilator management.

Responsibilities

• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Manage care for patients with tracheostomies and those on ventilators.
• Monitor patients for changes in condition and report to appropriate medical personnel.
• Implement care plans and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams for optimal patient outcomes.
• Educate families on post-surgical care and discharge planning.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of pediatric nursing experience.
• Current RN license in Maryland or compact state.
• BLS certification required.
• Experience with ventilator and tracheostomy care required.
• CPI certification preferred.
