Position Summary: The objective of this position is to support the production area in the analysis and reporting of metallurgical results for production and development parts. Essential Functions Operate equipment for cutting, mounting, embedding and polishing for preparing the metallographic samples Test LPCS, APS, HVOF, PACK, CVD, stripping, brazing, welding, laser drilling and shaping technologies, as directed Gather and enter data into Labratory Register Maintain clean and organized work area Interpret part cut-up drawings Operate optical microscopy for analyses of materials Multitasking while performing prep-work and analysis efficiently Conduct testing on new consumable materials Manage the internal Laboratory warehouse Work with Engineers and other Managers on development projects Working within the Company's Quality and Safety System context, in accordance with its procedures and requirements. Analyze and discuss lab results and reports Manage consumable supplies Performs other duties as assigned Supervisory Responsibility None This job operates in both an office environment and a manufacturing environment. The role routinely uses standard office equipment, such as computes, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. The individual will be required to adhere to safety policies and procedures on the manufacturing floor. Physical Demands While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 lbs and occasionally lift and or move up to 50 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday 8 hours per day, with additional hours as business needs necessitate. Willing to work flexible shifts, overtime, and weekends, if necessary.
