Senior Accountant

Heritage Golf Group is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our Corporate Accounting team based in Herndon, Virginia. This role is responsible for supporting the financial reporting and accounting operations for a portfolio of club properties. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, experience with month-end close and account reconciliations, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities Perform month-end close activities, including posting general ledger journal entries, importing sales data, and completing account reconciliations. Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements for assigned properties, including Balance Sheet, Income Statement, Cash Flow, and supporting schedules. Complete bank reconciliations across multiple high-volume operating accounts. Prepare and reconcile asset and liability account schedules to ensure accuracy and completeness. Prepare documentation and schedules required for monthly, quarterly, and year-end audits. Prepare, reconcile, and file monthly sales tax returns in applicable jurisdictions. Analyze accounting transactions and financial reports to identify variances, trends, and potential discrepancies. Assist in the preparation and analysis of budgets and financial forecasts, including variance reporting between budgeted and actual results. Support operational accounting functions as needed, including coordination with accounts payable and club finance teams. Assist with special projects and financial analysis as assigned by the Controller. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent combination of education and experience. 5+ years of accounting experience, with a strong understanding of GAAP principles. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the Microsoft Office Suite. Experience working with accounting systems or club management/POS software preferred (Jonas experience is a plus). Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Reporting Structure This position reports directly to the Controller.
