Operations Supervisor - 3rd Shift

Location: Goldsboro, NC

Pay: $80K-$90K

Overview
We are seeking an experienced Operations Supervisor to lead our 3rd Shift manufacturing team. In this role, you will oversee daily production operations, drive safety and quality initiatives, and ensure manufacturing goals are achieved efficiently and on schedule. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with experience in a manufacturing environment who can motivate teams, solve production challenges, and foster a culture of continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Production Leadership
  • Lead 3rd Shift production teams to meet daily manufacturing targets, quality standards, and operational goals.
  • Assign work, provide technical guidance, and support employees with drawings, specifications, and production requirements.
  • Maintain schedule adherence and production performance through an active leadership presence on the manufacturing floor.
• Safety, Quality, and Continuous Improvement
  • Promote a strong safety culture focused on accident prevention and employee well-being.
  • Monitor work-in-process activities to ensure compliance with quality standards and manufacturing procedures.
  • Identify production issues, investigate process deviations, and implement corrective actions that improve efficiency and product quality.
  • Maintain department organization, housekeeping standards, and operational excellence initiatives.
• Team Development and Employee Relations
  • Recruit, onboard, train, coach, and develop manufacturing team members to support production goals.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing feedback and development opportunities.
  • Address employee concerns, administer corrective actions when needed, and partner with Human Resources on employee relations matters.
  • Ensure accurate employee timekeeping and attendance records using Kronos or a similar workforce management system.
• Planning, Collaboration, and Cost Control
  • Partner with Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, and Safety teams to improve workflows, productivity, and cost efficiency.
  • Assist with workforce planning, staffing needs, labor forecasting, and department budgeting.
  • Monitor labor costs against operational plans and ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, and applicable labor agreements.

Qualifications

Required

• Associate degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, Business, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 2+ years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of production processes, quality systems, and workplace safety practices.
• Experience leading hourly production teams in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.
• Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred

• Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• Experience in transformer, electrical equipment, heavy industrial, or related manufacturing environments.
• Experience with workforce management systems such as Kronos.
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing, process improvement, and continuous improvement methodologies.

Work Environment

• Manufacturing facility with both shop-floor and office responsibilities.
• Frequent movement throughout production areas is required.
• Ability to stand, walk, and/or sit for extended periods during the workday.

Pay Details: $80,000.00 to $90,000.00 per year
