Insurance AR Specialist
A growing healthcare organization is seeking an experienced Insurance Accounts Receivable Specialist to join its Revenue Cycle team. This role focuses on researching and resolving insurance claim issues, managing past-due accounts, and ensuring accurate reimbursement for services rendered.
The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, experience working insurance AR, and the ability to investigate discrepancies and follow claims through resolution.
This is a full-time onsite role in Dallas, TX.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and research problem accounts with insurance payors
- Investigate claim discrepancies and correct billing or account errors
- Follow up on missing account information and unpaid claims
- Resolve past-due or delinquent accounts
- Research insurance guidelines and respond to inquiries regarding balances
- Contact insurance carriers and patients when claims or statements are delayed
- Prepare payment plans and monitor adherence when applicable
- Document all communications with patients, guarantors, and insurance companies
- Maintain detailed account records and ensure accurate documentation
- Prepare and review reports to identify and resolve AR issues
- Work with internal teams to obtain necessary documentation for claims
- Support team members during high-volume periods or staff absences
- Assist with training new or existing team members when needed
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 5+ years of Accounts Receivable experience
- Experience working Insurance AR and Patient AR
- 2+ years of payment posting experience
- Understanding of medical and dental insurance billing
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Strong research, problem-solving, and analytical skills
- Excellent communication and customer service abilities
- High level of accuracy, organization, and attention to detail
Work Environment
- Fully onsite position
- Collaborative Revenue Cycle Management team
- Fast-paced environment with multiple payer types and account types
