About the Position
This position is located at Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego – Branch Medical Clinic. Recruitment, Advanced in Hire and Leave Accrual may be considered. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation. Who May Apply: US Citizens.
Basic Requirements for Physician (Primary Care)
Degree: Doctor of Medicine, Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine, or equivalent from a U.S. or Canadian school accredited by the Council on Medical Education of the American Medical Association, Association of American Medical Colleges, Liaison Committee on Medical Education, Commission on Osteopathic College Accreditation of the American Osteopathic Association, or an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained. A foreign medical degree must have provided education and medical knowledge equivalent to accredited U.S. schools, demonstrated by permanent certification by the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates, a fifth pathway certificate for Americans who completed premedical education in the U.S. and graduate education in a foreign country, or successful completion of the U.S. Medical Licensing Examination. (Note: Attach transcripts or proof of foreign equivalency with your application.)
Licensure: Applicants must possess a current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a Physician from a U.S. state, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a U.S. territory.
Graduate Training: At least one year of supervised experience providing direct service in a clinical setting, such as an internship or the first year of a residency program in a hospital or an accredited institution.
Additional Qualification Requirements
Residency Training: Successfully completed the required accredited residency training in the specialty of the position (Primary Care, Family Medicine, Internal Medicine) and equivalent experience and training equal to at least 4 years. Experience may not substitute for the required residency training.
Preferred experience in Sports Medicine and/or completion of a Sports Medicine Fellowship.
Salary and Compensation
If selected for a Physician position, a salary quote will not be provided at the time of the initial job offer. The salary determination process begins after the initial job offer is accepted. Base pay and market pay are added to determine the starting salary, which will be provided once approved. Salary for physician positions is based on a tier scale determined by the position specialty, grade, and location.
