– Jacksonville Beach, Florida. Starting Date: Immediately. Starting Salary: $48,700. Additional referendum money available for the next year starting at $7000 for the 26-27 school year. Teachers hired during the school year will receive a prorated supplement amount based on the date of hire. Job Summary: Guides the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals and establishes clear objectives for all lessons, units, projects, and the like to communicate these objectives to students. Employs a variety of instructional techniques and instructional media, consistent with the physical limitations of the location provided and the needs and capabilities of the individuals or student groups involved. Strives to implement by instruction and action the District’s philosophy of education and instructional goals and objectives. Teacher – ESE – Varying Exceptionalities Exceptional Student Education Positions As a district, we have a variety of ESE positions that have varying qualifications. Minimum Qualifications Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university. Experience: None required. Salary is based on verified years of teaching experience. Certifications & Licenses: Must be eligible for Florida Department of Education Certification in the appropriate subject area. Position Specific Requirements ESE Certified Behavior Analyst: Three (3) years successful teaching or work experience with students on the autism spectrum and/or students with behaviorally complex needs. Experience with special education and related services for students with disabilities. Board certification as a Behavior Analyst AND Florida Department of Education teaching certification in at least one (1) area of Exceptional Student Education, Guidance and Counseling or School Psychology. Autism Spectrum Disorder Endorsement preferred. ESE Intervention Representative: Five (5) years successful classroom teaching experience in exceptional student education or a combination of exceptional/regular education teaching experience. Background in behavior management techniques is strongly recommended. Florida Department of Education certification in at least one (1) area of Exceptional Student Education, Administration/Supervision or Educational Leadership. Three (3) years experience working with students with disabilities. Must be eligible for Florida Department of Education Certification in the appropriate subject area. ESE Site Coach: Three (3) years experience working with students with Emotional/Behavioral Disabilities/Autism. Certification in at least one area of exceptional student education (for Autism positions, Autism certification or endorsement required) and one area of a core content area or K‑6 Certification. ESE Lead: Three (3) years experience working with students with disabilities. Must be eligible for Florida Department of Education Certification in the appropriate subject area.
