Required Skills & Experience

High School Diploma or GED.\n3+ years of experience in mechanical assembly, engineering technician work, manufacturing, or a related technical environment.\nAbility to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, schematics, and assembly instructions.\nExperience working with precision mechanical assemblies and tight tolerances.\nStrong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.\nExperience using hand tools, power tools, and measurement equipment.\nMechanical aptitude and attention to detail.\nAbility to work both independently and within a team environment.\nBasic computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Associate Degree in Mechanical Technology, Engineering Technology, Manufacturing Technology, or a related technical discipline.\nExperience supporting engineering development or prototype builds.\nExperience with electro-mechanical assemblies.\nFamiliarity with CAD drawings and engineering documentation.\nExperience working in aerospace, defense, optics, automotive, medical device, or advanced manufacturing environments.\nExperience performing product testing and validation activities.\nUnderstanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing).\nSoldering, wiring, or cable assembly experience.\nLean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement experience.

Job Description

Insight Global is seeking a Mechanical & Light Assembly Engineering Technician to support a manufacturing and engineering team in Rochester, NY. This individual will work closely with engineers and production personnel to build, assemble, test, troubleshoot, and support mechanical products and prototype assemblies. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical aptitude, experience interpreting engineering drawings, and a hands-on background working with precision mechanical assemblies in a manufacturing or engineering environment.\n\nThis role is ideal for someone who enjoys working directly with hardware, mechanical systems, manufacturing processes, and engineering teams to support product development and production efforts.\n\nThis will be a first shift position Monday-Friday 6am-3:30 on a 9/80 work schedule.
