About the Program The Store Manager In Training (SMIT) role is a development-focused program that prepares participants to assume a CVS Store Manager position. Over 16 weeks, you will receive self‑paced, collaborative training—both virtual and hands‑on—to build the leadership skills required for a Store Manager. Key Responsibilities Communicate clearly, verbally and in writing, to support and lead your team. Perform customer‑care duties to ensure high levels of service. Execute merchandising strategies that drive store sales growth. Manage store inventory and assets to maintain profitability. Expectations for SMIT Participants Actively engage with leaders during Key Learning Experiences to support your promotion path. Support the store as a member of the management team and lead in alignment with CVS values and policies. Engage colleagues to advance the company’s purpose of helping people on their path to better health. Be willing to accept promotion roles at any location within the designated market. Qualifications High school diploma or GED (required). Bachelor’s degree preferred. Retail management experience or experience as a CVS Supervisor. Willingness to accept a Store Manager promotion at any location in the designated market. Ability to transfer to other CVS Pharmacy stores within the designated market. Ability to work a schedule that may vary based on business needs. Program and Compensation Details Anticipated Weekly Hours 45 Time Type Full time Pay Range $18.50 - $23.88 per hour. The actual base salary will depend on experience, education, geography and other factors. Benefits include medical, dental, and vision coverage, paid time off, retirement savings options, wellness programs, and other resources, as determined by eligibility. Important Notes Selection for SMIT does not guarantee promotion to Store Manager. Promotion is based on performance and availability of openings. The application window closes on 11/29/2026.
