Ensure patients are well informed and comfortable before, during, and after their appointments. Take and process dental radiographs, impressions, and intraoral photos. Prepare and sterilize the treatment room and equipment. Provide chair‑side assistance to providers during treatment procedures. Document orthodontic care services by charting in patients’ records. Assist the orthodontist in assessing a patient's teeth and implementing a treatment plan. Perform routine orthodontic duties, including cleaning and adjusting orthodontic gear. Maintain a clean, sterile, and patient‑centric working environment. Maintain strict compliance with state, federal, and other regulations (e.g., OSHA, WC, Dental Board, HIPAA, ADA, DOL, Employee Handbook). Qualifications Six (6) or more months of practical experience as an orthodontic assistant. CPR or BCLS certification. Completion of a CODA‑accredited dental assisting program (preferred). Quick learner with problem‑solving skills. Integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality. Technical and troubleshooting skills for software used for charting, patient records, and scheduling. Proficiency in fitting bands and brackets, tying arch wires, and taking consistent, accurate impressions. Desire and ability to learn new skills and work as a team player. Commitment to punctuality and timely reporting. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. Strong interpersonal skills and a desire for professional growth.
