Work Environment

This position is onsite, primarily in patients' homes throughout the Spring Hill area. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals, including physicians, occupational therapists, and nursing staff, to ensure that every patient receives comprehensive care. This home care setting allows for a deep, personal connection with your patients and offers a unique understanding of their everyday challenges.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct in-depth assessments of patients' physical conditions, including mobility limitations, pain levels, and functional abilities, to develop tailored treatment plans.
• Implement therapeutic interventions, which may include active and passive exercises, muscle re-education, activities of daily living, prosthetic training, and gait and functional training.
• Educate patients and their families on rehabilitation principles, care plans, and home exercise programs to empower them in their recovery.
• Use a variety of treatment techniques, including hands-on techniques such as massage and stretching, to effectively reduce pain and improve function.
• Maintain meticulous documentation of patient progress, treatment outcomes, and any changes in conditions in compliance with regulatory standards.
• Actively communicate with team members to ensure consistent, quality care is being provided and patient feedback is integrated into treatment plans.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will work with a diverse array of patients coping with musculoskeletal disorders, post-operative recovery, and chronic conditions requiring orthopedic care. Your role is crucial in facilitating their rehabilitation process, helping them regain independence and improve their quality of life.

Qualifications

• An earned Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program.
• An active physical therapy license in the state of Florida.
• A minimum of one year of relevant clinical experience in orthopedic physical therapy is required.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interface with patients, families, and team members.
• Strong clinical assessment and treatment skills, including proficiency in designing individualized therapy plans.

Preferred Experience

• 2+ years of experience in orthopedic physical therapy is preferred but not mandatory.
• Board certification in Orthopedic Physical Therapy is a plus.
• Experience working in a home care setting or with geriatric patients is highly valued.
