Location and Shift City/State: Nyack, New York Department: Information Technology Work Shift: Day Work Days: MON-FRI Scheduled Hours: 8 AM-4:30 PM Scheduled Daily Hours: 8 HOURS Job Summary Participates in the building and training of clinical and non-clinical employees on the electronic medical record. Provides support in the implementation, use and optimization of clinical applications. Participates in testing, identifies and remediates problems prior to implementation or upgrades in the system. Provides end user support during upgrades and ongoing. Participates in multidisciplinary teams to improve the EMR. This position is a communication link between Nursing, Information Services, the vendor and the clinical departments regarding organizational and operational changes to clinical information systems. Change management skills are necessary to lead initiatives that will result in significant changes to workflow processes within the clinical setting and throughout the organization. Essential Functions Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of the capabilities and use of installed and planned clinical systems. Collaborate with clinicians and senior management to analyze data and identify trends to improve organizational performance, workflow and clinical outcomes. Implements, develops, and updates clinical aspects of computerized patient record. Analyze and understands needs for data integration and participates in definition and design of interfaces. Provides training, education and support to end-users of clinical documentation system. Ability to manage disparate expectations and commitments among multiple hospital departments. Develops process flows for current and future states based on automation. Conducts and or participates in meetings to keep abreast of departmental and organizational needs. Ensures the availability and appropriateness of staff education programs to support information systems. Maintains and enhances professional growth by keeping abreast of current health care trends, management practices, regulatory requirements (Joint Commission, DOH, CMS etc.), and clinical specialty. Customer Service Demonstrates personal excellence in customer service for both internal and external custom. Holds staff accountable for the delivery of excellent customer service. Participates in team efforts to increase the level of customer satisfaction. Performance Improvement Demonstrates the ability to recognize an opportunity for improvement and to collect and assess data. Demonstrates the ability to develop, implement and evaluate a Performance Improvement Plan. Participates in Departmental and Hospital-wide activities that improve processes/outcomes. Demonstrates compliance with licensure/certification requirements and the timeliness of their submission. Budget Prepares and administers the annual budget. Demonstrates ability to manage variances in the budget including Human Resource management and management of expenses. Collaborates with employees to control costs and pursue additional revenue opportunities. Projects/Assignments Completes projects/assignments within projected time frames and expectations. Qualifications Bachelor Degree Required Masters Preferred Two (2) years experience performing system implementations with demonstrated computer expertise preferred. Knowledge of complex, multi-departmental healthcare environment. Knowledge of hospital organizational functions, and clinical documentation systems. Proficient in the use of Office suite products including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Ability to prioritize work activities to achieve goals in a timely manner. Professional demeanor, excellent written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal skills to effectively interact with all levels of system users, physicians, senior management and vendors.
