About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Stepdown Cardiac Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 1.5 years in relevant specialty License: Active state RN license or compact license Certifications: BLS, NIH required; ACLS preferred Must-Have: EPIC experience Ability to pass an online EKG tele competency assessment Experience with patient ratios of 1:5-6 Experience in stepdown or progressive care unit Description: Winter jobs available for a 13-week contract. Must be available to work at minimum every other holiday. Application must show 1:5 patient ratio experience in the work history section for stepdown or progressive care unit. ICU experience does not count towards required experience for this position. Targeted patient ratios are 1:5-6. Must possess competencies to run IV drips such as heparin, nitroglycerin, amiodarone, and insulin. Daily average census of patients is significant. Nurses will be fitted for N95 masks before working in specific units. Ability to float to other units may be required. Traveler may be assigned a medically appropriate assignment or to support nursing care teams in other areas. Must be available to work every other weekend and holiday. Floating may include assignments to other facility locations nearby. Travelers are not eligible for employee incentives. The typical patient population includes heart failure, NSTEMI, COPD exacerbation, and post-procedure patients. Dysrhythmia interpretation and medication management experience is necessary. Candidate must be comfortable floating across various units without special requests. Charting experience using EPIC is required for all inpatient nursing roles.
