Key responsibilities include test planning, configuration control, test conduct, as well as data collection and analysis to assure product safety, performance, and regulatory certification during all flight and ground tests. At Boeing, our engineers use their expertise to create innovative next generation capabilities for a wide variety of amazing aerospace platforms and products.Position Responsibilities:Leads others in the development of standard test methods and processes and applies advanced test technologies to create or improve test methodsWrites invention disclosures to protect Boeing Intellectual PropertyPrepares R&D proposals and presents to internal management and external customerApplies emerging industry technologies to develop test proceduresReviews critical procedures to identify potential problems and resolve issuesDevelops innovative metrology design techniques, processes, methods, or conceptsOversees the integration of new design and manufacturing techniques into test hardware/system designsAnalyzes processes for potential improvements and recommends associated changesDevelops the standard policies for post-test activityResolves or oversees resolution of special test proceduresWorks with the enterprise test and engineering group to standardize evaluation techniquesFormulates expectations for test data for new or unique testsTrains and coaches othersWorks under consultative directionBasic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. CitizenshipBachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement10+ years of experience with instrumentation data systems in all phases of flight test (modification, execution, and refurbishment)Experience working with Accelerometers, Pressure sensors, Temperature sensors, Force sensors, Strain gages, Position sensor and FlowmetersExperience with calibration methods like regression, polynomial and hysteresisUnderstanding of mechanical design and the ability to decipher engineering drawingsPreferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):Experience with military commercial derivative aircraftHeld an active U.S. Security Clearance in the past 24 monthsDrug Free Workplace:Boeing is a Drug Free Workplace where post offer applicants and employees are subject to testing for marijuana, cocaine, opioids, amphetamines, PCP, and alcohol when criteria is met as outlined in our policies.Conflict of Interest:Successful candidates for this job must satisfy the Company’s Conflict of Interest (COI) assessment process.Shift:This role is primarily first shift; however, there may be additional shift requirements to support program objectives.Pay & Benefits: At Boeing, we strive to deliver a Total Rewards package that will attract, engage and retain the top talent.
