About This Role

The ideal candidate for this Teacher role is a highly skilled and motivated individual who can develop a cohesive teaching team, coordinate the curriculum, and manage the day-to-day operational activities of the classroom. They must possess a deep understanding of children's cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development, enabling them to create a safe and stimulating classroom environment that fosters active engagement and encourages children to succeed. Effective communication with both children and adults is crucial to meeting the needs of the children, guiding teacher assistants, and resolving parental concerns.

What You'll Do

• Develop and implement educational curriculum by creating classroom activities that align with developmentally appropriate practices and early learning standards.
• Lead by example, modeling and coaching the teaching team to achieve success.
• Create individual and group age-appropriate activities that actively engage children and promote social, cognitive, and emotional growth.
• Maintain regular communication with parents through informal discussions, progress reports, and parent-teacher conferences.
• Ensure compliance with all center policies and state regulations.
• Establish and maintain a healthy classroom environment, adhering to appropriate hygiene and cleanliness standards, and ensuring the safety and security of the children.
• Develop and maintain a personal professional development plan to ensure continuous quality improvement.

Requirements

• Must clear full background check and pass health screening.
• High energy and the ability to work well with others (staff, children, and parents) and to foster a team environment.
• Preferred: 1 year of professional childcare experience.
• A strong understanding of child development.
• Strong oral and written communication skills and basic computer skills.
• Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Requirements include the ability to take frequent walks, use hands and fingers, handle objects, tools or controls, talk to and hear voices at many levels. May also be required to kneel, bend, squat or crawl.
• A specific vision ability will be required including the ability to see up close and up to a certain distance, to see colors, have peripheral vision and depth perception.
• Required to complete an online training class within the first 90 days of date of hire (state requirement)
• Strong ability to foster a positive and inclusive environment for all children and staff.
