Staff Systems Engineer

Salary: $88,000 - 105,000 per year Requirements:

• We require a bachelors degree in a related field and extensive industry experience, typically 20+ years.
• A masters degree in a related field with extensive industry experience is preferred.
• A PhD from a technically rigorous program and institution is also preferred.

• We lead and advise cross-program system teams in reviewing and negotiating customer specifications, industry requirements, regulatory standards, and internal design guidelines to define product system requirements.
• We guide system teams across programs in validation planning in line with automotive functional safety and ASPICE processes.
• We develop system processes in collaboration with stakeholders to ensure compliance with ISO 26262 and ASPICE.
• We identify process gaps, drive system process improvements, and lead workgroups in collecting, analyzing, and cascading system requirements.
• We optimize requirements and parameter-definition processes across teams.
• We analyze performance and design-constraint requirements across programs.
• We define system architecture, including sizing and cell selection, based on the core product portfolio.
• We ensure requirements are cascaded to engineering disciplines and subsystems.
• We analyze limiting requirements across all functional levels.
• We define system architecture and component interfaces across engineering disciplines.
• We review system-level DFMEAs and coordinate related subsystem and component FMEAs.
• We approve the specifications and designs of battery components across mechanical, electrical, software, and electronics domains.
• We build supplier relationships to support component specification development and lead make-versus-buy analyses with functional teams.
• We approve system work packages and test results in support of design verification.
• We approve engineering documentation, including calculations, drawings, intellectual property, DFMEAs, validation reports, meeting notes, trip reports, and customer communications.
• We provide technical leadership to assigned project teams and collaborate with other engineering disciplines.
