Senior Product Manager

Location Chicago, IL - this role requires 3 days per week in office Not eligible for visa sponsorship OR C2C Responsibilities Own the end-to-end roadmap for clearing services, regulatory reporting, and post-trade functionality for listed and cleared derivatives Partner with Risk to design real-time risk management systems, including margin methodologies (SPAN, VaR), collateral valuation/haircuts, and multilateral netting and settlement engines Define and maintain data models for trade settlement, position management, and transaction reporting — optimizing for throughput, low latency, and data integrity across the clearing lifecycle Oversee development of clearing member services and portal capabilities, including third-party and vendor integrations via FIX protocol, proprietary APIs, or enterprise messaging (e.g., Kafka) Translate complex clearing business logic into detailed functional specifications: API designs (REST/WebSocket), state machines, data schemas, and exception-handling workflows for engineering teams Support customer onboarding, API conformance, and technical issue resolution; manage key client and vendor relationships Qualifications 7+ years of product management experience in capital markets, with hands-on delivery of clearing infrastructure or high-throughput transaction systems Deep knowledge of the post-trade lifecycle for derivatives (futures, options, swaps, or binary events) — trade ingest, novation, position keeping, assignment/exercise, EOD settlement Familiarity with FCMs and their integration with DCMs/DCOs Experience with regulatory reporting frameworks (CFTC, SEC, EMIR) and financial system auditing Comfort querying/analyzing data independently (SQL, Python) to validate systems and write data-driven requirements Familiarity with modern architecture patterns (microservices, event-driven systems, distributed ledgers) #J-18808-Ljbffr Forbes Technical Consulting
