About the Role The Dining Room Manager plays a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the dining area within an accommodation or food service establishment. This position is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the dining room environment, including staff management, customer service excellence, and maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety. The manager works closely with kitchen staff and other departments to coordinate service flow and optimize guest satisfaction. They are also tasked with managing reservations, handling customer inquiries and complaints, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. Ultimately, the Dining Room Manager strives to create a welcoming and enjoyable dining experience that encourages repeat business and positive reviews. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Proven experience in restaurant or dining room management or supervisory role. Strong knowledge of food service operations and customer service principles. Ability to manage and motivate a diverse team effectively. Familiarity with health and safety regulations applicable to food service environments. Preferred Qualifications Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or related field. Experience with reservation and point-of-sale (POS) systems. Certification in food safety or sanitation (e.g., ServSafe). Previous experience in a high-volume or fine dining establishment. Strong conflict resolution and communication skills. Responsibilities Supervise and coordinate daily dining room operations to ensure efficient service and guest satisfaction. Manage, train, and schedule dining room staff, including servers, hosts, and bussers. Monitor customer service quality and address any issues or complaints promptly and professionally. Collaborate with kitchen and bar staff to ensure timely and accurate food and beverage delivery. Maintain compliance with health, safety, and sanitation standards within the dining area. Oversee inventory control and ordering of dining room supplies and equipment. Implement and uphold company policies and procedures related to dining room operations. Prepare reports on dining room performance, including customer feedback and staff productivity. Skills The Dining Room Manager utilizes leadership and interpersonal skills daily to motivate and guide staff toward delivering exceptional guest experiences. Organizational skills are essential for managing schedules, coordinating with kitchen teams, and maintaining inventory control.
