Job Description

We are seeking an Assistant Practice Manager to support the daily operations of a dermatology clinic in Northwest Houston. This is an excellent opportunity for a healthcare-office professional with leadership potential who is ready to take the next step into management. The ideal candidate will have strong computer, organizational, and communication skills, along with the initiative and willingness to learn. A structured training program will provide exposure to key areas of practice management and prepare the successful candidate for increased leadership responsibility.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily clinic operations, including patient flow, scheduling, front-office processes, and administrative workflows.
• Support and provide day-to-day guidance to clinical and administrative staff while helping maintain a positive and productive work environment.
• Assist with staff scheduling, training, attendance tracking, documentation, and other employee-management responsibilities.
• Help monitor insurance, revenue cycle, and administrative processes to promote accurate and efficient clinic operations.
• Utilize practice management systems and Microsoft Office applications to maintain records, prepare reports, and support operational needs.
• Partner with the Practice Manager and providers to resolve operational issues, improve workflows, and gradually assume additional management responsibilities.

Qualifications and Requirements

• A minimum of three years of previous healthcare-office experience required.
• Demonstrated leadership potential and interest in developing into a healthcare management role.
• Strong computer skills and the ability to learn new software and systems quickly.
• Excellent organizational, communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to take initiative, manage multiple priorities, and work effectively with providers, staff, and patients.
• Dermatology experience preferred but not required.
• eClinicalWorks experience preferred but not required.
• Previous experience providing staff guidance, training, or team leadership is a plus.
