Roadway Engineer/Project Manager

We are seeking a Roadway Engineer/Project Manager to support planning, design, and delivery of transportation infrastructure projects. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with project managers, technical staff, and clients to develop innovative and practical transportation solutions while contributing to project quality, schedule, and budget goals.Key Responsibilities:Plan, manage or lead technical aspects of small to medium single-discipline projects or large, routine projectsIndependently coordinate work of professional staff and balance team throughout entire project's developmentEstablish client relations, and be involved with marketing, contractual, design and production meetingsParticipate in reviews with various governing agencies for complianceConduct work sessions for design development and contract document in conjunction with other staffCoordinate workload through entire project development, and ensure completion of documents on scheduleTrack financial aspects of projects, or specific tasks, and coordinate and adjust work effort with team to ensure that work is completed within parameters of agreed-to scheduleWork with Business/Accounting Manager or Project Controller and Department Manager for project reviews and with company management as neededServe in a technical design lead on the engineering development of urban and rural highway/roadway projectsOversee the work of CAD Designers, and possibly other EITsPrepare detailed engineering designs for roadway and highway projectsParticipate in activities ranging from site feasibility analysis to final design and support through the construction phasePerform quality control reviews and support continuous improvement initiativesPerform other duties as needed Preferred QualificationsA minimum of 7 years’ experience in transportation design and project development.Demonstrated hands-on experience using Civil 3D (preferred) or OpenRoads Designer (ORD)PE license in Montana or ability to obtain through reciprocity.Local candidates preferred. #LI-KJ1QualificationsRequired Qualifications Bachelor's degree Previous experience in all aspects of roadway engineering design Requires professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the location of the position offered. Example: Professional Engineer (PE or P.Eng) license. Hands-on experience with Highways and Roads CAD engineering software such as Bentley ConceptStation and Open Roads Designer and/or Autodesk Infraworks and Civil3dMS Office knowledgeExcellent communication and organizational skills Experience should include urban and rural highway interchanges, intersection design, traffic management, transportation planning, site planning, preparation of concept alignments, geometrical layout and CAD base alignment plans An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must What We BelieveHDR is our company.
