Position Overview

Crossroad Pain and Orthopedics is actively seeking a dedicated and proficient Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our orthopedic team in Lancaster, New York. This full-time position offers a unique opportunity to work within our outpatient practice, contributing to patient care under the supervision of our experienced Chief Nurse Practitioner and the direction of the Medical Director. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in enhancing patient outcomes in a dynamic healthcare environment.

Work Environment

The NP will operate primarily in an onsite hospital facility, dedicated to delivering outpatient services. Our practice fosters collaboration amongst physicians, nurse practitioners, registered nurses, and administrative support staff, creating a team-oriented atmosphere that emphasizes shared goals and patient-centered care. Our working hours are Monday to Friday from 9 AM to 5 PM, with no night shifts, weekends, or on-call responsibilities, which encourages a work-life balance for our team members.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough patient histories and physical examinations to assess orthopedic conditions and overall health.
• Develop and implement treatment plans for patients suffering from various conditions such as hypertension, high cholesterol, and acute conditions like coronary artery disease and stroke.
• Manage outpatient-only electrophysiology services for patients dealing with abnormal heart rhythms and implantable devices.
• Perform stress testing and interpret results to facilitate ongoing management of patients’ cardiovascular health.
• Collaborate with orthopedic specialists for consultation when more complex care is required.
• Provide education to patients and their families regarding diagnoses, treatment options, and preventative care strategies.
• Prescribe medications as required, ensuring that therapeutic interventions are based on the latest clinical guidelines and best practices.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of patient interactions and treatment plans in our electronic health record system.

Patient Population / Client Focus

This role focuses on a diverse patient population that includes adults suffering from chronic pain, acute orthopedic issues, and cardiovascular concerns. The NP will engage with patients in a compassionate manner, advocating for their needs and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive care and optimal outcomes.

Qualifications

• Education: Completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program is required, with a master's or doctoral degree strongly preferred.
• Licensure: A current NP license to practice in New York, with board certification in a relevant specialty area.
• Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, as well as a proficiency in using electronic health records.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in orthopedics and outpatient care, though we welcome applications from both seasoned professionals and recent graduates eager to make an impact.
• Familiarity with pain management strategies and an understanding of electrophysiology as it pertains to orthopedic practices.

Compensation and Benefits
