Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: PCU Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 Years License: Active RN License Certifications: BLS Certification Must-Have: Med/Surg Experience, Ability to Prioritize Care, Multitask, Start IVs, Basic Wound Care, Maintenance of Surgical Drains, Nasogastric Tubes, & Chest Tubes Description: Provide attentive and compassionate care to patients and family members. Conduct bedside shift report. Establish personal connections with patients. Include patients and family members in their plan of care. Support on day shift and night shift by tech staff. Unit secretary available during daytime hours. Utilize various types of equipment including IV pumps, telemetry, SCDs, continuous pulse oximeters, feeding pumps, PCA, EKG machines, and bladder scanners. Employ iMobile communication technology. Document using Meditech. Schedule includes three 12-hour shifts per week, with two weekends (four shifts) in a four-week schedule. Contract labor is the first to float, followed by a rotation for other staff during high census. Unit is a Comprehensive Stroke and ACS Verified Level II Trauma Center, as well as a Certified Chest Pain Center. Dress code requires navy scrubs for tops and bottoms. Include unit-specific policies and guidelines. Promote outstanding team awards and department recognition. Highlight any new equipment or technology and the experience of the staff.
