Model Based Systems Engineer IV (Edwards)

JT4 is hiring an Model Based Systems Engineer IV for their Edwards Air Force Base located in California.

An Engineer IV serves as a technical advisor responsible for a broad program involving development, budgeting, scheduling, project management, and installation of systems.

Requirements -- Education, Technical, and Work Experience

A Bachelor of Science in engineering from an ABET-accredited academic institution and eight years of related engineering experience, or an accredited Master of Science in engineering and a minimum of six years of related engineering experience, or an accredited doctorate degree in engineering and a minimum four years of related engineering experience are required for this position.

In addition, an Engineer IV must possess the following qualifications:

• Independent problem solver and effective communicator with demonstrated Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) experience.
• Ability to translate complex requirements into actionable system models, coordinate across diverse technical and operational stakeholders, and integrate development efforts across organizations.
• Experience developing and maintaining SysML models using Cameo Systems Modeler, Magic System of Systems Architect (MSOSA), or similar tools.
• Ability to model requirements, interfaces, system behavior, architecture, and verification traceability.
• Object Management Group (OMG) Certified Systems Modeling Professional (OCSMP) certification preferred; equivalent MBSE education, training, or practical experience may be considered.
• Familiarity with network architecture, interfaces, data flows, interoperability, cybersecurity considerations, and operational constraints.
• Ability to work effectively with engineers, program managers, operational users, developers, test personnel, and mission partners to identify dependencies, resolve issues, and maintain alignment.
• Experience with requirements decomposition, interface management, technical documentation, and briefing technical issues, risks, tradeoffs, and recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Comprehensive knowledge of concepts, principles, and practices of engineering to provide consultative services on development programs and in the design and development of systems and components.
• Knowledge and skill sufficient to apply the latest developments in engineering to solve complex problems in the specialty area.
• Working knowledge of computer systems and computer-based engineering tools.
• Well-developed leadership skills.
• Ability to investigate, troubleshoot, and design solutions to problems from a broad perspective.
• Excellent communication and analytical skills.
• Planning/organizational skills and the ability to work under deadlines.
• Must be a US citizen.
• Must possess a valid, state-issued driver's license.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance.

Salary: $125-$170k annually

Employee will be responsible for the following functions/duties:

• Perform in a supervisor role for engineers involved in the development, testing, integration, and sustainment of specialized and diverse software, electronic, and/or mechanical equipment, and systems.
• Determine test objectives, instrumentation, and data requirements.
• Write test planning documents, schedule program activities, track funding and expenditures, plan and conduct test missions, analyze resultant data, document results in test reports, statistical evaluations and briefing presentations.
• Direct interface with internal and external customers at all levels from quotation to final design.
• Act as liaison for test activities, design reviews, and technical working group meetings to comply with requirements and specifications.
• Generate complete design specifications for more complex projects.
• Coordinate and work closely with other engineering, logistics, financial, and program management disciplines to define system specifications and requirements.
• Verify and comply with engineering documentation standards and test procedures.
• Prepare, deliver, and submit technical papers and perform engineering studies.
• Support development of technical proposals and provide comments on the technical content and level of effort of the proposed scope of work.
• Act as a company/industry expert resource on the most complex engineering problems.
• Maintain technical project responsibility for assigned tasks and advise management of progress in support of the technical and administrative direction of project operations.
• Conduct site visits and experimental investigations and analyze engineering problems, propose solutions and alternatives, and provide recommendations.
• Develop, interpret, and implement technical and administrative operating policies and procedures.
