Position Details:

Emergency Department RN- Viroqua WI

Location : Viroqua WI 54665-2096

Duration : 12 weeks Contract

Pay Range : $50- $57/hr

Shift : 7p - 7a night shift, every 3rd weekend (Friday, Saturday, Sunday) with holiday rotation

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Emergency Department Registered Nurse (RN) to provide high-quality nursing care in a hospital. The RN will assess, triage, stabilize, treat, and monitor patients presenting with a wide range of emergency conditions while working collaboratively with physicians and the multidisciplinary healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities

· Perform rapid assessment, triage, and prioritization of patients based on acuity.

· Provide emergency nursing care to patients across the lifespan.

· Monitor vital signs, cardiac rhythms, oxygenation, and patient status.

· Initiate and manage IVs, medications, fluids, and emergency treatments as ordered.

· Assist with stabilization and management of medical, surgical, and traumatic emergencies.

· Respond effectively to critical and rapidly changing patient conditions.

· Perform or assist with emergency procedures, including CPR and other life-saving interventions.

· Obtain patient histories, document assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately.

· Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, EMS, laboratory, radiology, and other departments.

· Prepare patients for transfer to higher-level facilities when advanced care is required.

· Provide patient and family education, emotional support, and discharge instructions.

· Maintain compliance with hospital policies, infection-control standards, and emergency nursing protocols.

Requirements

· Current Registered Nurse (RN) license.

· Previous Emergency Department/ER nursing experience preferred.

· Experience working in an acute-care or hospital setting.

· Current BLS certification required.

· Additional emergency certifications such as ACLS, PALS, and TNCC may be required or preferred.

· Strong clinical judgment, assessment, communication, and critical-thinking skills.

· Comfortable caring for patients with varying levels of acuity and responding to emergency situations.
