Validation Engineer

The Validation Engineer is responsible for supporting validation and reliability testing activities for networking hardware systems, including switch and server platforms. The role involves executing system-level validation, troubleshooting hardware issues, analyzing test data, and collaborating with cross-functional engineering teams to ensure product quality and reliability. Responsibilities Perform validation and reliability testing on networking hardware platforms, including Cisco switch systems (e.g., C9350, C9400) and Cisco Unified Computing System (UCS). Execute system-level validation activities to verify hardware functionality, stability, and performance. Utilize Linux-based commands and diagnostic tools to support system bring-up, validation, and troubleshooting. Perform interface validation across RJ45, SFP, and QSFP connections to ensure reliable data transmission and link integrity. Validate hardware components such as PSUs, network modules, and heat sinks to ensure proper system integration and performance. Conduct environmental and reliability testing including shock, vibration, and altitude tests. Analyze test results, document findings, and support root cause investigations and corrective actions. Collaborate with hardware, software, and manufacturing teams to support product validation and issue resolution. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering field. Experience with hardware validation, reliability testing, or system-level troubleshooting. Familiarity with Linux command-line environments and diagnostic tools. Knowledge of networking hardware interfaces such as RJ45, SFP, and QSFP.
