Crossing Guard
Under limited supervision, provide guidance, protection, and safety to all pedestrians within the designated school zone and crossing.
Major duties and responsibilities:
- Assist all pedestrians in safely crossing main thoroughfares within a designated school zone.
- Direct the flow of vehicular and pedestrian traffic as appropriate within the designated school zone.
- Establish and maintain an ongoing working relationship with campus administrators and staff.
- Provide a general and consistent adult presence at school crossings.
- Notify campus administrators of unsafe practices by students.
- Inform the Katy ISD Police Department of unsafe operations of vehicles in the crossing areas.
Working conditions:
Maintain emotional control under stress. Continuous walking and standing. Exposure to vehicle exhaust. Works outside and is exposed to extreme temperatures and inclement weather.
