Are you a licensed Occupational Therapist (OT), Speech Language Therapist or Physical Therapist (PT) ready to make a difference in the lives of birth to 3-year-olds and their families as an early interventionist? The Idaho Department of Health and Welfare Infant Toddler Program seek unique individuals who can meld pediatric therapy with key evidence-based practices that support caregiver know-how and development of their infants/toddlers' experiencing delays or disabilities. The geographical assignment is Coeur d'Alene and surrounding areas. Travel is required to provide in-person evaluations and services in the child's natural environments - home, childcare, etc. Therapeutic services are provided in the child's natural environments applying coaching interaction methods. Services to families may be conducted using virtual early intervention presence as well as in-person visits. Interventionists apply evidence-based practices built on providing caregiver consultation, coaching strategies, and parent education to capitalize on the learning opportunities within family routines.

The Idaho Department of Health & Welfare is a drug-free workplace. EXAMPLE OF DUTIES:

• Administer diagnostic evaluations to assess, analyze, interpret and document child's skills and function to determine eligibility for program services, identify child's developmental status and inform intervention needs and support strategies.
• Participate in Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP) goal development, progress reviews and transition planning with team members and family.
• Design, implement, assess and adjust intervention practices with the child's family and Infant Toddler Team for effective functional development and progress.
• Conduct intervention sessions in the child's natural environment as identified in the IFSP using routine-based interventions with caregiver participation.
• Model and apply effective evidence-based practices related to the birth to age 3 population, including adult learning methods, and teaming.
• Serve as primary interventionist representing and in collaboration with the multi-disciplinary team.
• Submit and maintain documentation of each service delivered to the child including consultation or coaching with the participating caregiver according to program established timelines and processes.
• Schedule intervention and evaluation appointments with families; state vehicles are available for provider transportation to and from sessions according to policy.
• Participate with and invest in exchanging expertise during regular meetings with team members and with community partners.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

You must possess all the minimum qualifications below to pass the exam for this position. Please make sure your resume or work history supports your meeting the minimum qualifications for this position. Failure to do this may disqualify you from being considered for this position. It is highly recommended to attach a one-page cover letter to your application to demonstrate how you meet the requirements below.

• Licensure as a physical therapist in Idaho in accordance with Idaho Code 54-2202. Registration or a temporary registration must be obtained prior to appointment. OR Licensure as an occupational therapist in Idaho in accordance with Idaho Code 54-3703. Licensure or a limited permit must be obtained prior to appointment. OR Licensure as a speech-language pathologist in accordance with Idaho Code 54-2913 or Provisional Permit in accordance with Idaho Code 54-2919
• A valid driver's license. Must be at least 21 years of age and meet eligibility requirements to drive a state vehicle.
