This role will be responsible for ensuring accurate technical accounting treatment for leases, equity and other investments, revenue recognition, and other complex transactions and agreements. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in US GAAP, strong analytical capabilities, and a proactive mindset to drive process improvements and ensure compliance.How You Will ContributeHave a deep understanding of US GAAP and ASC guidanceInterpret and apply new accounting standards confidentlyDraft technical accounting memos, maintain accounting policies, and ensure compliance with those policiesCollaborate with cross-functional teams to assess accounting implications of new initiatives and contractsExcellent written and verbal communication skills for explaining intricate processes clearly to non-accounting stakeholders.Prepare balance sheet reconciliations for accuracy and monthly financial statements that comply with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)Recommend process improvements and innovations that will increase the team's effectivenessPerform monthly closing responsibilities, including preparing journal entries for review by accounting managementWork with accounting management and the external audit firm to ensure an efficient annual audit processGain an understanding of general ledger accounts and effectively communicate to members of the Accounting and Finance team the activity that has occurred and the resulting financial reporting implicationsAnswer accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting dataDevelop and implement accounting procedures by analyzing current procedures and recommending changes when necessaryWhat You Will Bring3-5+ years of accounting experience, including experience reviewing the work of othersStrong Excel skills including ability to use pivot tables, Vlookups, etcHighly entrepreneurial and detail-orientedExcellent communication skills, both written and verbalAbility to work collaboratively in a team environmentEnthusiasm to contribute to Stand Together's vision and principled approach to solving problems, and a commitment to stewarding our culture, which champions values including transformation and innovation, entrepreneurialism, humility, and respect.Standout Candidates Will BringBachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPAExperience in nonprofit or mission-driven organizations.Familiarity with data visualization tools like Power BI or Tableau.Proficiency in financial systems such as Sage Intacct, Concur, Blackline, and advanced Excel.Strategic thinker with a hands-on approach to problem-solving.$100,000 - $120,000 a year For this role, the anticipated base salary range is $100,000- $120,000 per year. This role may also be eligible for additional bonus compensation designed to align total compensation with an employee's overall contribution to the organization.
