Job Details

Key Responsibilities and Duties

• Manage commercial and complex civil litigation matters from intake through resolution
• Develop case strategy and communicate directly with clients throughout the life of each matter
• Draft pleadings, dispositive motions, briefs, and discovery requests and responses
• Take and defend depositions, including evidence depositions for trial
• Argue contested motions and temporary restraining orders
• Handle evidentiary hearings, arbitrations, and trials
• Negotiate settlements and participate in mediations
• Collaborate closely with attorneys and support staff across the firm

Qualifications

• JD and active Illinois law license
• 5+ years of commercial or complex civil litigation experience
• Strong research, writing, and oral advocacy skills
• Meaningful deposition and courtroom experience
• Ability to manage cases and client relationships independently
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Westlaw

Preferred:

• Trial or trial prep experience
• Demonstrated ability to stay organized and responsive while juggling multiple active matters
• A genuine investment in producing excellent, polished work product
