Registered Nurse - PICU

Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) RN

Seeking an experienced Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) RN to float across various pediatric units including PICU, NICU, peds medsurg, peds PACU, peds ED boarders, and postpartum/mother-baby. The position requires versatility, strong pediatric clinical skills, and the ability to adapt to different units within a hospital setting.

Responsibilities:

• Provide exceptional patient care across multiple pediatric units as required by the float assignment.
• Administer medications, monitor vital signs, and perform clinical procedures within scope of practice.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement care plans tailored to pediatric patients.
• Adhere to hospital policies and safety protocols, including pediatric-specific guidelines.
• Maintain accurate documentation of patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes.
• Demonstrate flexibility and professionalism while floating to various units and handling diverse cases.

Qualifications:

• Hold a valid RN license in Virginia or pending licensure as acceptable; license must be active by the start date.
• Minimum of 2 years PICU experience in a hospital setting.
• Demonstrate prior NICU and PICU float pool experience, with comfort working in multiple pediatric areas.
• Certified in BLS, NRP, ACLS, and PALS.
• Dr. Browns Infant Driven Feeding Certification or pending with submission.
• Epic electronic health record experience.
