Position Summary:

The Director of Nursing directs and oversees all nursing services conducted with the goal of providing quality, compliant service. The Director of Nursing serves as an advocate, conflict mediator, and educator for Access Care staff and participants. The Director of Nursing reports to the President.

Qualifications:

• Bilingual (preferably Spanish or Arabic)
• Management experience
• Desire to work with seniors and individuals with disabilities
• Management and conflict resolution skills
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Bachelor’s degree preferred 

Requirements: 

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Kentucky 
• One year of nursing experience in direct patient care
• Satisfactory references, criminal background check, drugscreenand sanction check 
• CPR and First Aid training completed before start date; instructor certified within90 daysof employment
• Pass a Criminal background check, Drug screen, and TB test
• DAIL training upon hiring

Responsibilities:

1. Internal sales process

• Interacts with participants to promote satisfaction, retention, and utilization
• Participates in internal sales process as directed by President
• Conducts family consultations as needed
• Participates in the screening and prioritization process for potential participants

2. Job Duties

• Oversees and directs all nursing and scheduling services provided within the day center
• Manages allnursing staff including hiring andtraining
• Completesnursing activities within the RN scope of practiceto provide individualized care to participants asindicatedby doctor orders 
• Uses nursing judgement to assess and evaluate clients toidentifyneeds
• Evaluates potential participants todeterminetheir needs 
• Maintains up to dateknowledge of Medicaidrules and regulations
• Tracks and manages department budget and supply needs
• Communicates withparticipants andrepresentatives of all agenciesto ensure the provision of quality and compliantHCB nursing services
• Serves as a leader in conflict resolution and provideswarrantedsupport, guidance, and education 
• Aides in the Medicaid auditing process, provides information requested, and completes items on Corrective Action Plan involvingthe nursing department
• Maintains department policies and procedures
• Ensures the completion of all critical reporting in accordance with Medicaid regulations
• Completes other tasks as directed by President

3. Compliance

• Abides by the standards identified in Access Care LLC’s Compliance Plan and HIPAA Plan.
• Maintains certifications as required by state/licensure

Language and Communications Skills:

Advanced interpersonal and communication skills to secure cooperation, interpret

policies, exchange information, and provide professional judgments in continuous

contact with management personnel, colleague managers and other employees;

contacts with medical staffs, and representatives of outside agencies or groups,

clients, families, vendors and public. Works with a range of adult clients of

various ages with multiple types of health care needs. Ability to listen attentively

and speak clearly and distinctly in receiving and responding to inquiries.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

Training and certification in CPR within the first six (6) months of employment

and recertification as required. Annually each employee must have a PPD test or

be determined to be free of symptoms of tuberculosis if there was a previous

positive PPD.
