Master Maintenance Specialist

Maintenance Mechanic

Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines.

Observe all Company Safety Rules and Policies.

Maintain paperwork as necessary; work orders, inspections, P.M. sheets, etc.

Removes defective parts by dismantling devices; using hoists, cranes, and hand and power tools.

Determines changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts; using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments.

Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments by using hand tools, levels, plumb bobs, and straightedges.

Fabricates repair parts by using machine shop instrumentation and equipment.

Maintains technical and safety knowledge by attending employer supplied educational workshops; monthly safety topics and participating in daily Tool Box discussions.

Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.

Lay out and complete assigned work independently.

Supervise other mechanics in the absence of supervisor.

Weld carbon steel, stainless and aluminum pipe, on bench and in field.

Enter Confined Space and perform necessary repairs including use of welding skills.

Use Oxyacetylene Welding & Cutting.

Use and climb ladders (approx. 40 foot high).

Wear company supplied respirator per required tasks.

Experience and Skills

Education: A High School Diploma or equivalent is required at a minimum.

Minimum of 7 years of maintenance experience, preferably in a chemical or manufacturing experience.

Experience mentoring/leading other maintenance mechanics is a plus.
