Sr Technical Accountant

We are seeking a highly motivated and analytical Senior Technical Accountant to lead technical accounting research, prepare the company for public-company reporting, and optimize our manufacturing financials. Reporting to the Corporate Controller, you will play a crucial role in our pre-IPO transformation by establishing robust internal controls and drafting policies to ensure flawless execution during audits.

Key Responsibilities

• Research, evaluate, and document complex technical accounting issues, including ASC 606 (Revenue Recognition), ASC 842 (Leases), ASC 718 (Stock-based Compensation), and business combinations.
• Draft and maintain comprehensive accounting policy memorandums to support non-standard transactions and audit reviews.
• Analyze the financial impact of complex manufacturing and supply chain agreements.
• Assist in the preparation and review of public filing documents (e.g., S-1, 10-K, 10-Q) and coordinate the drafting of footnotes and MD&A disclosures.
• Design, implement, and document internal controls over financial reporting (ICFR) to meet Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance standards.
• Assist in external financial reporting, including XBRL tagging of financial statements.
• Collaborate with operational accounting and manufacturing teams to review standard versus actual costs, inventory valuation, and capitalization policies.
• Ensure that capitalized variances, fixed asset depreciation, and bill of materials (BOMs) accurately align with US GAAP.
• Assist with manufacturing variance analysis and capital expenditure accounting.
• Act as the primary point of contact for external auditors regarding technical accounting memos and quarterly/annual audit requests.
• Support the month-end and year-end close processes by reviewing non-recurring complex journal entries and account reconciliations.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Active CPA
• 4–8 years of total accounting experience, with a mix of Big 4 or regional public accounting and private industry experience
• Familiarity with cost accounting, ERP systems, and inventory controls
