Sample Management Technician

We're searching for a detail-oriented Sample Management Technician to join our environmental laboratory team in Plano, TX. In this role, you'll handle the intake, documentation, and organization of environmental samples to support compliance and decision-making. From logging samples into the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) to overseeing storage and distribution, your work ensures accuracy, efficiency, and integrity across the lab. What You'll Do Receive and document samples from clients, couriers, shipping, laboratory, and/or field staff Verify that all samples meet condition standards and comply with organizational policies, quality requirements, and applicable regulatory guidelines Accurately record sample information, details, and required analyses in laboratory software system Label, organize, and distribute samples to appropriate personnel in a timely manner Maintain orderly and secure sample storage areas and oversee the proper placement, retrieval, and disposal of samples in accordance with established protocols Prepare sample kits and manage outbound shipments as required Provide assistance to colleagues and support related operational functions, including inventory management, supply preparation, and general support activities Perform other duties as assigned Requirements What We're Looking For High School Diploma or equivalent Prior experience performing accurate data entry and/or administrative support with strong attention to detail Hands-on experience in a professional laboratory or sample management environment strongly preferred Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and general computer applications What We Offer Competitive compensation Medical, dental, and vision coverage 401(k) with company match Employer-paid life, AD&D, and disability insurance Paid time off, sick leave, and paid holidays Paid parental leave Employee Assistance Program (EAP) Tuition reimbursement and professional development support Work Schedule Full-time position following a standard Monday through Friday schedule Ability to work outside of scheduled hours, including evenings or weekends, as required to meet operational or workload needs Our Commitment to Diversity and Inclusion At SPL, we believe that a diverse team is a strong team.
