Hiawatha Care Center is actively hiring a Hair Stylist to provide professional hair care services that help residents look and feel their best. As a Hair Stylist, you will deliver compassionate, resident-centered cosmetology services in a long-term care setting while building meaningful relationships with residents, families, and staff. If you are a licensed Cosmetologist or Hair Stylist who enjoys working with older adults, this is a rewarding opportunity to make a positive impact.

What We Offer

Compensation : $15 - $60 per hour

Schedule and Employment Type

• Part-Time | Flexible Schedule

• Minimum commitment of one full day per week , with the opportunity for additional days as needed

Key Responsibilities

• Provide professional hair care services as a Hair Stylist, including haircuts and styling for men and women

• Perform shampooing, styling, blow drying, and basic grooming services

• Perform iron sets and roller sets based on resident preferences

• Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary salon environment

• Clean and disinfect cosmetology tools and equipment in accordance with sanitation standards

• Build positive relationships with residents, families, and staff

• Deliver services with patience, kindness, dignity, and respect while accommodating each resident's individual needs

• Maintain accurate records of services provided and collect payment in accordance with facility procedures, if applicable

Qualifications

• Current and valid Iowa Cosmetology License required

• Experience performing iron sets and roller sets

• Experience working with seniors or in a long-term care setting preferred, but not required

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills

• Compassionate, patient, and resident-focused approach to care

• Reliable transportation and dependable attendance
