Locums Emergency Medicine Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner

A busy Emergency Department in Independence, Missouri is seeking a Locums Emergency Medicine Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to provide ongoing coverage. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced APP to join a collaborative emergency medicine team in a fast-paced, patient-focused environment.
Position Highlights
Start: Ongoing coverage
Schedule: Primarily morning and mid-day shifts
Call: None
EMR: Electronic Medical Record system utilized
Practice Details
Approximately 80 Emergency Department visits per day
Admission rate: Approximately 3.5%
Collaborative physician and nursing support
Broad mix of emergency medicine cases requiring routine ED procedures
Responsibilities
Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients presenting with a wide range of low- to moderate-acuity emergency conditions
Perform common emergency department procedures, including:
Laceration repair
Splinting and fracture stabilization
Incision and drainage (I&D)
Wound care and other routine emergency procedures
Order and interpret diagnostic tests as appropriate
Collaborate with emergency physicians, nursing staff, and ancillary teams to provide timely, high-quality patient care
Document patient encounters accurately in the electronic medical record
Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program
Board Certified as an NP or PA
Active Missouri license or ability to obtain
Previous Emergency Department experience required
