Stepdown Unit Patient Care TechnicianAs a PCT on the Stepdown Unit, you'll support nurses in caring for patients who require closer monitoring than a traditional med-surg setting. You'll assist with hygiene, mobility, vital signs, documentation, and provide compassionate bedside care, including support for patients nearing the end of life. Your steady presence and attention to detail help ensure patients receive safe, high-quality care during critical points in their recovery.Working on the Stepdown Unit gives you experience with complex medical-surgical, cardiac, stroke, and sepsis patients — an ideal setting to build strong clinical judgment and hands-on skills. You'll strengthen vital signs, mobility support, patient monitoring, communication, and learn to recognize changes in patient status in a high-acuity environment.
