Job Opportunity: Psychiatrist for ACT Program
Our organization, affiliated with a prominent medical institution, is looking for a full-time board-certified or board-eligible Psychiatrist to join our Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) program. This role involves being an integral part of a multidisciplinary team, where you will hold overall clinical responsibility for overseeing client treatment and ensuring the effective delivery of clinical services by staff.
The ACT psychiatrist will conduct psychiatric assessments and provide treatment within the community, while also coordinating clients' medical care alongside their psychiatric treatment. Ideal candidates should possess a solid understanding of severe and persistent mental illnesses and be well-versed in the ACT model of care. This full-time position comprises 32 hours dedicated to ACT and 8 hours in the Comprehensive Psychiatric Emergency Program (CPEP). Additionally, this role includes a faculty appointment with the affiliated medical school, offering a unique chance to work within a diverse patient population.
Key Responsibilities:- Conduct psychiatric assessments and provide treatment in community settings.
- Oversee client treatment and staff clinical service delivery.
- Coordinate medical care with psychiatric treatment for clients.
- Engage in teaching and mentoring psychiatry residents and medical students.
- Board certification or eligibility in Psychiatry.
- Current New York State License, Medicaid number, and DEA number.
- Understanding of severe and persistent mental illness treatment.
- Knowledge of the ACT model of care.
