Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for an Associate Attorney based in Northern, New Jersey. This role focuses on removal defense and detention-based cases, including bond and habeas corpus matters. The ideal candidate is a strong legal writer with the ability to manage cases with increasing independence while working under the strategic direction of Veronica Cardenas, Esq., a former DHS attorney.
This is a high-performance environment suited for an attorney who is comfortable handling complex matters, working under pressure, and producing precise, well-structured legal work.
Qualifications
J.D. from an accredited law school
Admission to a U.S. state bar (required)
3–5 years of experience in immigration law
Fluency in Spanish or another language (preferred)
Strong legal writing skills (critical)
Demonstrated experience handling removal defense cases
High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines
Professional judgment and ability to work with minimal supervision
Ability to multitask
