Glendale Community College seeks individuals who are equity‑minded leaders, committed to student success and closing equity gaps, to apply for its Full‑Time Tenure‑Track Hospitality Management Instructor position. This position includes but is not limited to areas such as hotel/lodging, food and beverage services, event planning, and tourism. Teaching Assignment and Responsibilities Full‑time, tenure‑track classroom teaching assignment in the Division of Aviation and Technology, 18 instructional hours per week. Hold five office hours per week and devote necessary time to professional responsibilities. Participate in professional activities, curriculum development, and campus committees. Teach courses offered in onsite, online, hybrid, evening, and Saturday classes. Teach courses in hospitality management services using demonstrations, active learning strategies, and lectures. Maintain records of attendance, census, grades, and related documentation. Maintain regular posted office hours and be accessible to students. Provide an environment conducive to effective learning. Assist in development and implementation of curriculum, policies, and procedures for the program. Participate in campus governance and professional activities such as committees, scheduling, leadership positions, and faculty meetings. Participate in staff development and continuing education to maintain currency in the field, pedagogy, and student support strategies, especially related to equity initiatives. Work toward achieving the college’s institutional, program, and student learning outcomes in support of Glendale Community College’s mission statement. Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with all employees and others involved in the course of work. Demonstrate sensitivity to diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students. Perform other instructional‑related duties as assigned. Start date: Fall 2026. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or higher with two years of experience in culinary arts/food technology, OR Associate’s degree with six years of experience, OR equivalent. Managerial experience in hospitality operations including front office lodging management, food and beverage services, and event management. Experience overseeing large‑scale events, catering operations, or banquet service execution. Experience building partnerships and participating in local, regional, state industry, community, and external professional organizations. Experience working to reduce equity gaps with students from underrepresented groups. Beverage program management experience (wine, spirits, bar operations, cost management). Certification as National Restaurant Association, ServSafe Manager, ServSafe Alcohol, ANSI/ANAB instructor or proctor. Desirable Qualifications Managerial experience in hospitality operations (front office lodging, food and beverage services, event management). Experience overseeing large‑scale events, catering, or banquet service execution. Experience building partnerships with industry, community, and external professional organizations to develop job placement, internships, and promote the Hospitality program. Knowledge of working with students who are underrepresented in higher academia to reduce equity gaps. Beverage program management experience (wine, spirits, bar operations, cost management). Administrator or instructor/proctor of National Restaurant Association, ServSafe Manager, ServSafe Alcohol, or ANSI/ANAB certifications. Salary, Health and Welfare Benefits Starting salary ranges from $72,928 to $100,966 per year, depending upon education and experience. Step placement within the appropriate column is determined by Article VIII of the Glendale College Guild, Local 2276, Collective Bargaining Agreement.
