Heavy Haul Driver

Olive Recruiting is searching for a Heavy Haul Driver for our client in Norfolk, VA. This role is responsible primarily for supporting engineered heavy transport and over-the-road super load operations. Responsibilities encompass safely operating prime movers, supporting modular trailer transport, and working closely with field crews to execute complex oversized and overweight moves.
Location: Norfolk, VA
Full-time, direct hire with client
Schedule: Project-based travel
Typically traveling Monday-Friday with some extended travel
Compensation: Competitive hourly pay with overtime
Strong annual earning potential based on travel and hours worked

Responsibilities:
• Operate prime movers hauling oversized and overweight loads under permitted routes
• Support heavy haul transport operations utilizing Goldhofer, Faymonville, or Scheuerle trailer systems
• Assist with trailer setup, adjustments, and basic troubleshooting in the field
• Ensure proper load securement, axle configuration, and weight distribution
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections on tractor and trailer equipment
• Coordinate closely with riggers, escort teams, and transport supervisors
• Follow all safety, compliance, and operational procedures during high-risk transport operations
• Represent the company professionally while working on customer sites and public roadways
Qualifications:
• Heavy haul or specialized transportation driving experience
• Experience hauling oversized and overweight loads under permitted routes
• Exposure to multi-axle hydraulic platform trailers, perimeter trailers, or modular trailer systems
• Strong understanding of load securement, axle spacing, and weight distribution principles
• Experience working alongside riggers, transport supervisors, escorts, and field crews
• Willingness to travel for project assignments
• Valid CDL-A license required
• Non-union or willing to work in a non-union environment
