Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Cardiac Perioperative Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse (RN) with a minimum of 2 years of experience. Candidates are encouraged to apply if they meet the qualifications outlined below.

Eligibility

Perm candidates from facilities outside of Sweden (NON-SWEDISH) are eligible for a travel contract if they have been separated for at least 3 months. Active compact licenses are honored.

Responsibilities

• Provide care for cardiac patients, including pre/post-operative care for open-heart and vascular surgery patients.
• Manage and care for chest tubes and maintain sternal precautions.
• Administer blood products and perform cardioversion and defibrillation as required.
• Carry out telemetry monitoring, including interpretation of dysrhythmias.
• Utilize Epic electronic health record system for patient charting and documentation.
• Participate in interdisciplinary support, including IV Teams, Physical Therapy, and Rapid Response Teams.

Experience and Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of surgical telemetry experience, including open-heart surgery and vascular (groin) management.
• IV skills and NIHSS certification are required.
• ACLS and BLS certifications are mandatory.
• Epic experience is a hard requirement.
• Optional: Experience with VAD and TAVR.

Patient Care Details

The unit is focused on the care of adults and geriatric patients, with a daily census of approximately 32 patients. This includes patients with:

• Myocardial infarctions
• Primary arrhythmias
• Coronary artery disease
• Heart failure
• Stroke patients with cardiac involvement

Staffing Information

Patient to Nurse ratio is typically 1:4, with potential adjustments during night shifts. Flexibility to float to similar units as needed is required.

Application Requirements

• Must provide two references covering one year of experience within the last three years.
• Must have a valid compact state nursing license at the time of application.
• Previous charge experience is preferred but not required.
