Role Description The Summer Camp Director is a part-time, on-site role based in Pittsburgh, PA, responsible for overseeing daily camp operations and ensuring a safe, engaging environment for all participants. This role includes planning and organizing camp schedules, sports activities, and special events, as well as supervising camp staff and volunteers. The Director will lead daily staff meetings, provide on-the-spot coaching and feedback, and ensure that all programs align with Jump Start Sports’ standards for youth development and character education. Duties include communicating regularly with parents and guardians, handling questions or concerns, and providing exceptional customer service. The Summer Camp Director is also responsible for maintaining safety protocols, managing equipment and supplies, and completing basic administrative tasks such as attendance tracking and incident reports.
Qualifications

Qualifications
- Experience in camp or recreational program leadership, including organizing activities and managing daily operations.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with children, families, and staff.
- Background in youth development and working with children, with a commitment to creating a positive, inclusive environment.
- Proven customer service skills, including responsiveness, professionalism, and conflict resolution.
- Ability to lead and motivate a diverse team, manage time effectively, and adapt in a fast-paced setting.
- Basic knowledge of safety practices and risk management in youth or camp settings; CPR/First Aid certification preferred or willingness to obtain.
- Previous experience in coaching, physical education, recreation, or related fields is beneficial.
- Ability to work the full camp season, including required training sessions and occasional extended hours as needed.
