Custodian

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and reliable individual to join our team as a Custodian at Kelly Elementary School. The successful candidate will play a vital role in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors. This full-time position requires a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Responsibilities Perform daily cleaning and maintenance tasks, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and sanitizing classrooms, hallways, restrooms, and common areas. Ensure that all cleaning supplies and equipment are maintained and stored properly. Assist with the setup and breakdown of school events, including moving furniture and equipment as needed. Monitor and report any maintenance or repair needs to the appropriate personnel. Follow safety protocols and maintain a safe working environment for all students and staff. Conduct routine inspections to ensure cleanliness and safety standards are met. Respond to urgent cleaning requests in a timely manner. Support the school’s recycling and waste management programs. Collaborate with other staff members to ensure the overall cleanliness and functionality of the school facility. Attend training sessions and meetings as required. Requirements High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Previous custodial or cleaning experience is a plus, but not required. Ability to work independently and manage time effectively. Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards. Ability to lift and move heavy objects, as well as perform physical tasks throughout the day. Familiarity with cleaning chemicals and safety procedures. Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with others. Must pass background checks and adhere to school policies and regulations. Flexibility to work evenings or weekends as needed for special events or cleaning tasks. #J-18808-Ljbffr
