About the Position

Job Title: Stepdown RN Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Stepdown Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12 hours Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1 year IMCU experience plus 2+ years recent med-surg and telemetry experience License: Registered Nurse License Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) Must-Have Qualifications: - Minimum 1 year IMCU experience - 2+ years recent med-surg and telemetry experience - Experience in neuro care, myocardial infarctions, and tracheostomy care - Ability to care for patients with complex medical needs - Proficient in reading and interpreting telemetry rhythm strips - Telemetry test will be conducted on day 1 Description: This position requires a flexible schedule of 12-hour shifts. The role includes working every other weekend and every other holiday. Critical care experience is preferred. The unit sees a mix of IMCU, neurology, and med-surg patients. The patient population includes a high volume of neuro, medicine, and cardiology patients. Care for patients may include chronic ventilator management, tracheostomy care, and high acuity heart failure cases. The unit has 27 beds with an average patient ratio of 1:3 for IMCU and 1:4 or 1:4-5 for med-surg patients. Candidates will perform medications dispensing duties. Skills-based hiring is enabled for this position.
