Express Employment Professionals is seeking candidates for the position of an Industrial Maintenance Mechanic for a local peanut plant. Normal work hours are Monday through Friday, from 7:00AM to 4:30PM, with an unpaid lunch. Duties of an Industrial Maintenance Mechanic is to maintain all equipment to required standards, provide support for preventative and failure based maintenance. Must be willing to take after hours call-ins on evenings and weekends and respond to facility as needed. This position's pay starts at $24 per hour, but depends on experience. Role Duties & Responsibilities
- Troubleshooting mechanical failures
- Repairing, rebuilding and maintaining equipment
- Demonstrating a strong team member attitude while being able to work independently with minimal supervision
- Recommending changes, modifications, or upgrades of equipment to improve machine reliability and performance
- Reading equipment drawings and documentation
- Documenting work, modifications to equipment, etc.
- All other duties as required
- Experience with coupling and coupling alignments, conveyors, safe rigging practices, hydraulics, cutting, grinding, and welding
- Must be familiar with and able to work on the repair and maintenance of all processing equipment in the plant. This includes, but is not limited to: conveying systems (elevators, augers vibration equipment), gearboxes, power transmission
- Both oral and detailed written are needed to be effective in this position. Must be able to utilize independent judgement to solve problems, have excellent organizational skills to effectively handle multiple ongoing tasks and strive for continuous improvement
- Proven experience with High-speed production
- Detail oriented with good verbal and written skill
- Must have good attention to detail troubleshooting skills
- Must be familiar with standardized industrial procedures, practices, and concepts
- Strong written communication and interpersonal skills
- Related industry knowledge
- The candidate must have a high degree of mechanical competence
- At least five (5) years of experience
