Growing together.As a full time, nonexempt Pharmacy Technician, you will assist in various pharmacy activities under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist. Your responsibilities will include preparing, delivering, and restocking medications; performing order entry; procuring drugs; billing. You will carry out your job duties according to written procedures and guidelines based on pharmacy standards and regulatory requirements.Primary Responsibilities:Prepare and dispense medications by measuring, counting, labeling, and packaging prescriptions under the supervision of a licensed pharmacistAssist pharmacists and healthcare providers by gathering necessary information and supporting workflow efficiencyPrepare and compound medications (including IV admixtures and sterile products) following hospital protocols and USP standardsDeliver medications to patient care areas, including automated dispensing cabinets (ADCs) and nursing unitsMaintain medication inventory by restocking, tracking controlled substances, and monitoring expiration datesSupport medication safety initiatives, including double-checks, labeling, and documentationCollaborate with pharmacists, nurses, and clinical staff to ensure timely and safe medication deliveryComply with hospital policies and regulatory standards, including Joint Commission and state/federal regulationsSchedule: This full-time, nonexempt position will work up to 40 hours/week in a variety of shifts.Location: Coast Plaza Doctor's Hospital in Norwalk, CA offers 117 licensed beds, including a 37-bed Behavioral Health unit, and a complete in-house range of Emergency Department Services 24/7.Pharmacy Hours: The pharmacy utilizes CPOE and ADC-Pyxis with Pyxis automation/software. Pharmacy hours are Monday - 7:00am-8:30pm; Tuesday-Friday - 7:30am-8:30pm; and Saturday & Sunday - 8:00am-4:30pm. Remote pharmacy services are provided overnight and after these listed pharmacy hours.You'll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in.Required Qualifications:High School Diploma or GEDCurrent California certified pharmacy technician license in good standingProficient computer skills including experience using Microsoft OfficeProven effective communication skills; verbal and writtenDriver's License and access to a reliable transportationPreferred Qualifications:PTCB/CPhTIV and compounding experiencePharmacy technician experience in a hospital pharmacy settingPay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
