HVAC Mechanic I (S)

Reporting to the HVAC Supervisor, this position is primarily responsible for providing journey level work in the areas of Heating/Air Conditioning, Refrigeration, Hot Water Supply, Plumbing and Food Service Equipment at a multi-custody female correctional facility. Other responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to the following: completing special repairs and assignments that are received by work orders from authorized personnel; identifying the cause of a problem and determining materials and tools and method of repair; carrying out repair procedures independently on most jobs; performing preventative maintenance functions as required and outlined in the preventative maintenance plans; training and/or supervising the work of offender workers as needed.

Anson Correctional Institution houses female offenders in medium and close custody housing units. Anson CI offers a wide variety of educational, vocational, and training programs. Correction Enterprises operates the offender packaging operation at Anson, a partnership with Union Supply Direct through the Prison Industry Enhancement Program (PIE). Family and friends can order a package of goods from a pre-approved shopping list to send to an offender. Orders are packaged by offenders and shipped quarterly.
