Surgical Equipment & Inventory Coordinator (On-site, Pittsburgh, PA 15219)

• Job Type: Full-Time, Direct-Hire (Permanent placement on company payroll with full benefits; not a temporary job)
• Location: Pittsburgh, PA 15219 
• Schedule: Full-Time, Mid-Shift (Monday – Friday 10:30 AM – 7:00 PM; no weekends, holidays, or on-call requirements)
• New Hire Starting Base Pay: $19.80 – $22.45 per hour (Starting salary placement is determined by direct surgical services, sterile processing, medical equipment, or inventory experience.)
• Future Earning Potential: Position salary range progresses up to $30.40 per hour over time through performance, tenure, and surgical support career ladder advancement.

Mandatory Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
• Experience & Skills: Surgical services or hospital environment experience preferred. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize in a fast-paced clinical setting.
• Systems Knowledge & Technical Skills: Familiarity with surgical instrumentation, specialty OR equipment (lasers, video towers, microscopes), and basic supply chain/inventory tracking software preferred.
• Customer Service & Communication: Professional interpersonal skills to coordinate with Specialty Nurses, Surgical Processing (SPD), Maintenance, and Biomedical Engineering teams.

How You'll Make an Impact

• Surgical Equipment Care & Maintenance: Clean, inspect, and maintain specialty surgical equipment (lasers, video towers, microscopes, positioning supplies, cameras, telescopes) and ensure proper processing/turnaround of minimally invasive instruments between cases.
• Case Flow & Resource Coordination: Review next-day surgical schedules to allocate shared equipment and instruments across operating rooms and ambulatory surgery centers to keep procedures on track.
• Inventory & Specialty Supply Oversight: Manage special-order inventory, process incoming deliveries, assist with orthopedic supply stocking, and track broken or incomplete instrument trays with SPD.
• Maintenance & Biomedical Escalation: Promptly log and route equipment malfunctions to Maintenance or Biomedical Engineering to ensure patient safety and minimize downtime.
